This is the best time of the year - 2 long weekends in a row and the weather is really nice. J- bana was on a road trip - camping fenzy for the past 2 weeks... Manoir Charlevoix, Québec City, Rivière Rouge, Mont-Tremblant.... now I'm back at Montebello!

 

I've also been watching a bit too many Horror movies these days... never miss a phone call or Asuka will bite your neck!

 

It was father's day and here's the gift i got for my dad:

 

He loves photograhpy, he's a pro... So here is a Nikon D40 SLR, with a 18-55mm AF lens. It's probably the only SLR camera I can afford... costs a leg but it's worth it - he was so happy and proud!

 

I took some shots with it - the quality is top-notch.

 

 

 

The dock is fixed and dad bought a kayak. He told me that he discovered a little island in the middle of the river... He went there with his kayak, it's quiet, no one ever went there. It's like those deep jungles, there are thousands of birds! Well next time he can go there and take some nice pictures!

 

I can't be happier these days. I'm going to close my eyes and just move forward - stop thinking about what's right or wrong.

 

I puked everywhere on my bed after. I dont remember when did my friends leave nor what i said / did, but they told me that i was very nice and was extremely funny. But I think I saw the world, a Kaleidoscope. I turn around and everything keeps changing...

 

I just turned 23.

偶下楼， 纳闷中....

I saw nobody there but a big shinny new HDTV in a package.

I ran out to check who was it, but it was dark and no one was there...

Called all my friends but no one admits anything.

Called my parents they said it's probably a fraud and asked me to not open it (hahaha!)

Now you got a very confused but extremely happy Jerry who feels a little bit guilty, hooking up the TV directly to his xbox360...

ok I know who you are. But I still just need an excuse to say this:

 

 

 

It was the 10th Mayday I woke up poor Will at 8:30AM and forced him to go out. We went to visit a bunch of schools... marianopolis, westmount high and his elementary school - he is too proud of that school and he should be - its freaking huge for an elementary school! I was impressed... It was hot but we walked for the whole day. I heard the air con was broken in the office - I made the right choice of skipping work... At night, Sabeeh Harry Parag and Jy came - with a lot of booze too... My appartment was blasting Indian techno remixed with MJ Billy Jean... I don't know how the neighbour didn't complain.But drinkin on the balcony on a hot summer night is the coolest thing! As midnight strikes, we all went out to Mt-Royal. We took the steepest path and arrived on top in no time. But I guess it's not a very good idea to run down the mountain when you are half drunk. I hit the back of my head when i fell and ended up bleeding all over my arms. But it's ok, we had (too much) fun! It's just... next time no running.

 

And I just realized how much food I leeched these days from friends, Will's mom and even my cousin...I'm feeling guilty now.

Heh I cracked it. I knew it was a good investment. All thanks to Willy's Torx 10 screw driver. Now I need many DVD+R DL... 

 

I've also found my cybershot's recharger and my cellphone's earphone adaptor.

 

I spent the weekend at my parents house and chainsawed a lot of woods. When the son returns home = cheap physical labor. I'm not complaining cuz of all the good food.

 

J-bana is kinda happy.

 

I'm dead for next week - working hard like a mofo these days.

Work In Progress update 3: Front hood

 

 

March ~ is it supposed to be spring? how come I'm freezing my bollocks off these days?!!?

But March was cool, sooo coool that I have to write it down, cuz then I know why I'm so screwed for projects & work.

 

I am guilty of:

 

- Drinking on Mont-Royal after a snowstorm, under the moon light~ it was amazing and wack.
I had to sharpen this pic by a lot because it was blurry - and you probably know why it is blurry...

 

 

- Clubbing on I don't even know who's birthday - I was deaf after that

 

- Korean BBQ buffet...hmm! Then I tried to stay vegetarian for a week...almost.

 

- Buying 11 tickets of 300, felt bad for those who couldnt get a ticket after (hehe). Be proud of Montreal no-name film studios! Actually it's

called IceStorm Studio, I dont know if they are still in bussiness. And I just noticed that part of SilentHill is made by Mokko, another small but amazing studio here. - After 2 hours of Spartan glories, we went to Sharks and it was great fun - especially jumping balls on the pool table... im getting good at it now but the table probably doesn't like it. Note: Hot chocolate doesn't dilute alcohool at 4AM.

 

- xbox360... I think that was an impulse purchase. Beat gears of war 3.5 times...

 

- Visiting the SAQ a bit too frequently... that vodka OJ was way too bitter, I think we even tried to put sugar in it but it doesnt help hahaha!

 

- Cooking egg-fried-rice on sunday morning - I can't cook but my sister was being really nice, she said it tastes good. Vegetarian plan failed when I smelt that BBQ chicken...

 

- Participating in office pranks. 2 weeks ago we filled my supervisor's pencil cup with pink Jell-O and switched his plants... Last week we filled another fellow's bookshelf with popcorns, and setup a sophisticated mechanism (which invovlves 3 engineers, a rope and sheets of plastic wraps) to make sure that all the corns would POP out when he opens the shelf - and it worked...perfectly. ASIC group = too cool.

 

- Guilty of not visiting my parents for a looooooong time, suuuure it was because of the snow storm, 

 

but it was actually:

 

- Harry's basement - A semi-paradise filled with infinite tostitos, smooth cheese sauce, white chocolates, barcardi, baileys, scotch, peanuts (Harry please say peeen*ts again?) and an xbox 360 hooked to a 42 inch widescreen TV. With Burnout crash, we were seriously drinkin & drivin, damn those car bombs - "we want more! clap clap clap!" That boxing game was fun until Sabeeh beat the sh!t out of me...

 

- Screaming on the streets late last night... Hey! I was just trying to sing "feeling a moment". I guess it was pretty good cuz Yueshi started falling and prentends that she doesn't know me.

 

- Fook, how come this list is so long?! I will be late tomorrow morning again. So im stopping right here.

工程 design project 过两周就要交 - 在图书馆“钻研”了一天（星期天哦）竟然发现其中有致命的缺陷 - 多半要重做。

 

还有一个没有眉目的 business project - 期限1个月，不敢想了。

 

本以为实习后可以轻轻松松几个月，还顺便选一节课 - 当时真TMD天真。

来来来，鄙人给大家鞠躬拜年~ 祝各位身体健康万事如意(从小写信都是这么写的)

 

对不起阿，小朋友们，没有压岁钱。。。 哥哥现在太穷。。。怎么感觉工作后比原来更穷，真的 ><

 

记得小时候过年都是从南京坐两三天的船去南昌爷爷奶奶家，给无数亲戚拜年，实际上是去讨压岁钱和蹭饭。记得大多数压岁钱是被负责的父母替我“存起来”了，其余少数拿出去偷偷和哥哥打街机，最后还被老爷子发现，揪着耳朵拎回家。。。靠，那年好像是十岁吧，哈哈。

 

回想这几年，春节过得挺平淡的。亲戚这边几乎没有，而且实际上这几年连见父母都很少。 不过每次见面都是无比亲热，和老爷子是听他海阔天空扯政治，因为妈平日不是他的听众。 和妈就是“哎呀怎么还没有女朋友啊，要烦你的婚姻关啦。。。” 不过，每次回去都有一整桌子的好菜，还有人给我铺床叠被子，才知道什么是幸福，呵呵。

 

哦，还记得很小时候读过一个故事 - 讲的是“为什么要过年"。 其实“年”是一个大怪兽，每到这时候都要吃小朋友，尤其是那些爱哭的！所以人们就放鞭炮来吓它，久而久之就成了习俗~ 不知道吧， KB吧~

I've spent the whole friday morning debugging some VHDL codes but couldn't fix them... honestly those sh!ts make no sense! So I gave up and started to learn Matlab. I was asked to write some matlab codes that generate some random vectors and do some QPSK modulation, add some random noise and estimate the error rate. I know... wtf is that? How do I do that??? I've never written a single line of matlab code in my life lol.

 

Monday is gonna be fun again.

 

 

Finally I decided to move my lazy ass and started working on the RX-8 model again.  The main cage is almost done, soon it will be converted to mesh/polygons and I will be working on the details.

 

It's getting coooold.

I've been working pretty hard these days (really?) at the job. Basically the first week is about training, but it's really self-training. I've been reading books, watching CD presentations about basic concepts of next-gen wireless networks and refreshing some VHDL codings.

 

That sounds pretty boring and it is. However, my collegues are really cool people. Especially the other 2 interns, they are as good as a live comedy show. We sit together (3 desks combined in a corner and I got the window spot!) since the office is running out of the space at the moment, but that's actually a good thing. Whenever we get bored (which is 90% of the time when we are studying, at least one of us will get bored), we would start a conversation. And maybe one day I should write a book about "3 Interns in the Corner" that summarises all the stupid/intelligent jokes/stories/teasings that we've been telling to each other:

 

- "It has only been 4 days since i know you and you've already been an ass!"

- "Yes, and you are the hole!"

 

 

On the other hand, not much work done on the 3D modelling these days, I'll catch up in a few days.

It has been a while since I last moddeled a car. So here comes the new year project: Mazda Rx-8. I intend to make the transformer "Meister" later on. Anyway starting with the car first.

 

Rx-8 is a fairly popular car so blueprints and referrence images are pretty easy to find. As usual, I'm starting with the spline cage.

 

 

 

 

 

年终自然应该总结一下... 去年度过的很满意，成功多于失败, 哈!

新年也该有些新目标, 唔, 还要好好想想, 还有几小时时间...

Bwahahah the finals are finally over (since last week actually)!

 

And finally I bought a cell phone. Rogers has this good promotion, so I got the SE w810 b/c I want a good Mp3 player as well. With the promotion it comes with a 4GB memory stick :D  the promotion also gives a bluetooth earpiece which isn't that useful because the phone comes with earphones already.

 

As an electrical engineer with intrinsic curiosity and obession with electrical devices, I decided to flash the firmware of the phone and debrand it. I want to be able to read chinese on the phone, get rid of the ugly Rogers menus and to be able to use .swf flash desktop. After a lot of researching, I've discovered this neat program called Phone-XS which is able to flash and upload files to CID49 phones...for free! But the deal is, it cracks the CID46 by pure bruteforce...which means, it can take a looooooooooooong time!

 

I'm not really sure how this cracking the authentication process works, but it seems that the smart card on the phone generates a random code as passcode and Phone-XS has to try to bruteforce it out by trying all kinds of random answers. Once the passcode is cracked, I can upload all the customization .xml files.

 

I've been running the bruteforce for like over 10 hours twice (then the battery on the phone ran out) and still couldnt break the code... People reported as fast as 5 minutes to as long as 20 hours to crack the phone... Guess I have to be patient.

 

And it's winter time!!! Not much snow this year...global warming.
